Catalog description

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to parametric solid CAD software and digital rendering methods for industrial design. Students will practice the basics of 2D sketching and translating it into 3D parametric modeling, focusing on the creation of complex parts, assemblies, and technical drawings. Taking finished models into real-time ray-tracing software, students will create photorealistic renderings and animations by learning about the different materials, textures and lighting environments and how to apply them to their designs to have portfolio quality images to showcase. ID 260 is a prerequisite for this class.
